20 ARTISTS WANTED!
Gnarly Magazine and Flying Piston Benefit are teaming up again for a skateboard art contest and charity auction during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and we’re looking for 20 skateboard artists to help raise money for two great charities: AllKidsBikes.org and Motorcycle Missions
WHAT TO DO:
If you’d like to be considered, please email Johnny at: GnarlyMagOnline@gmail.com (or send me a DM on Instagram) by Monday, April 10th. We will make the official announcement of the participating artists on Wednesday, April 12th, with the blank skateboards being mailed out to artists soon after.
****Please be sure to include a link to where we can review your artwork***
WHAT YOU GET:
If you are a chosen artist, you will be mailed a skateboard blank to create a work of art that will be sent back to Flying Piston Benefit in time for the charity auction at the Buffalo Chip during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The 20 artists chosen will be from the USA due to hefty international shipping charges, but international artists may still participate (details below).
The skateboard art contest will go off first in order to give visibility to the available skateboard art pieces that the public will be able to bid on.
Winner of the skateboard art contest will receive $200 cash.
If you are one of the 20 chosen artists, you’ll be mailed a blank skateboard to create your skateboard art and you will then mail your finished skateboard art back to Flying Piston Benefit so it arrives in their hands by (or before) Friday, July 21st, in time for the auction.
Please email Johnny a photo of your finished skateboard art by (or before) Friday, July 21st in time for the art contest.

ABOUT FLYING PISTON BENEFIT
The Flying Piston Benefit events are produced by Marilyn Stemp of Iron Trader News and Jeff Najar of Horsepower Marketing to assist in raising awareness and funds for non-profits and individuals in the biker community. New ridership and veteran’s concerns are the focus.
In addition to supporting Motorcycle Missions which helps veterans suffering from PTSD learn skills through motorcycle building, Flying Piston Breakfast proceeds support AllKidsBike.org, a foundation that makes bike riding a part of the kindergarten curriculum in schools, with the goal to cover the nation.
The Builders Breakfast began organically, as many efforts. But the event has evolved, bringing a firm goal into focus: to bring more riders into motorcycling.
ABOUT ALL KIDS BIKES
All Kids Bike is a national movement led by the Strider Education Foundation to place Kindergarten PE Learn-To-Ride Programs into public schools for free, using donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations.
At the Strider Education Foundation, we believe learning to ride a bike builds the confidence that changes everything! Our mission is to deliver superior balance bikes and a proven Learn-To-Ride curriculum to schools and organizations that wish to teach all individuals how to ride.
ABOUT MOTORCYCLE MISSIONS
Motorcycle Missions is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation helping Veterans and First Responders with PTS(D) find hope and healing through motorcycle therapy. At Motorcycle Missions we understand that much of the post traumatic stress (disorder) paradigm is that the need for purpose, camaraderie, and adrenaline is of the utmost importance. Our hope is to encourage our participants to instill a life-long passion for riding and building motorcycles, that will help them enjoy a happy, healthy, and balanced lifestyle after trauma.
